The number of domestic passengers continues to fall and the number of international passengers increases: what is the reason?

In the latest Civil Aeronautics passenger and cargo mobilization report, a an increase of 28.2% in international passengers and a decrease of 11.8% in domestic passengers as of October.

Likewise, the report revealed that between the months of January and October 2023, a total of 40,108,000 passengers were transported by air, an increase of 0.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. This means an increase of around 303,000 passengers compared to the same period in 2022.

For international passengers, lThe number is 16,005,000, an increase of 28.2%. This means an additional 3,522,000 mobilized people compared to 2022.

“The government of change celebrates the consolidation of air traffic and the country’s international destinations. The charm of the Colombian landscape and geography represents an alternative for business and entertainment for world travelers,” the aviation authority said in this context.

On the domestic side, civil aviation revealed an 11.8% drop in passengers carried.This means that while 27,321,000 passengers were transported in the first 10 months of 2022, this year 24,102, representing 3,219,000 passengers less.
