Company Origin of UAVs, specializing in the development of unmanned aerial systems for the military sector, announced a new portable drone for launching precision bombs, with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, the so-called Beak.
A multi-purpose UAS, developed as a ready-to-use solution nato, Based on the operational needs seen in the Ukraine war, it is designed to offer extended range, maintain a reduced acoustic signature, and conduct offensive missions against various types of targets using unconventional tactics that exploit enemy vulnerabilities.
The drone has a set of electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) sensors, completely sealed for operation in all types of climates and mechanically stabilized gimball three axes. The IR camera integrates a 19mm lens and aperture capable of achieving a resolution of 640×512 pixels. The EO system has two cameras: the first integrates eight times optical zoom and a global shutter that offers resolution HD; the other, type observer (observer), mounts a lens with a narrow field of view and a rolling shutter capable of achieving resolution 4K. As an optional extra, the kit can include an 850 nanometer laser pointer.
The aircraft can carry a load of up to four kilograms of ammunition in a configuration of two, four or six precision bombs. The release mechanism allows quick and tool-free connection of bullets thanks to a system of adapters, custom designed for each type of ammunition and defined by the end user. In the heaviest configuration, the drone can fly for a total of 35 minutes.
The beak equips the system anti-jamming composed of a team GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) with 2, 4 or 8 antennas CRPA (Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna) with broadband rejection of 40 to 50 decibels; and data link module Silvus military grade, with automatic interference prevention. The system operates on frequencies of 2,200-2,500 MHz or 4,400-4,940 MHz and offers a range of 20 kilometers.
The company also developed software Origin Ground Control, open architecture and based on custom designed functionality that allows the drone to be used in multiple missions in all types of tactical environments. An advanced guidance function enables precise delivery of payloads from operational altitudes and the control unit it combines joysticks, buttons and touch screen allows you to plan flight operations quickly and easily.
