Cancun, QRoo.- Starting December 1, tickets for the first leg of the tour Mayan train from Campeche to Cancun.
This was announced by General David Lozano Águila, CEO of Mayan Train, during President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s morning briefing:
“We will start the operation on the 15th of December on the section from Campeche to Cancún, we hope that with this we will be able to visit all these beautiful areas of Yucatan and Campeche, many people will be interested to participate, we will ratify the ticket sales that will start on the 1st of December as announced, as directed by the President, and until further orders to the contrary, we will carry out the mission, Mr. President.”
Maite Ramos Gómez, director of Alstom México, said that the fifth Mayan Train unit will leave Ciudad Sahagún for the Quintana Roo workshops this November 27.
Prior to this, four Mayan Train units have already been delivered and subjected to static and dynamic tests, so they will be ready by December 15th.
In addition, a sixth unit will depart from Hidalgo to Quintana Roo next week, completing the six trains with which the Mayan Train will begin operations.
During a conference from the National Palace, President López Obrador announced that he will present a government report in Quintana Roo for his five years in office.
With the announcements made this Monday, it is confirmed that the train will not start service in the sections that pass through Quintana Roo (5, 6 and 7), since until the last report on the progress of the works in mid-October last year, these three sections had hardly any More than 50%.
