Chetumal.- As part of this Orange Day, a day to act, raise awareness and prevent violence against women and girls, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa expressed that a major crusade was undertaken in Quintana Roo to make visible, address and prevent violence that and eradicate them.
“Eradicating violence against women, youth and girls is a matter of social justice. If we do not do so, today’s verbal attacks can become tomorrow’s feminicide,” said the first governor to all residents of Quintana Roo.
In a message addressed to the people of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama pointed out that on this Orange Day it is important to reiterate and affirm our commitment to eliminate all violence against women and make it clear: “And I tell you that I believe you! “
Mara Lezama emphasized that in this humanistic and progressive government of deep transformation, neither resources nor efforts are spared to ratify our commitment to women, as set out among the goals of the New Agreement on Welfare and Development of Quintana Roo.
“That’s why we work 24/7 with comprehensive services through legal and psychological care and support for economic autonomy through the We Are Your Support Network program. In addition, we recently opened a shelter in the Mayan area and started the construction of a new justice center for women in Chetumal,” explained the chief executive.
