DJI Air 3: the first dual-camera drone in the Air series comes to conquer aerial photography

It no longer has the Mavic surname, but DJI’s new drone represents the best of the house. We already have DJI Air 3 with us, a renewal with more autonomy, an omnidirectional obstacle detection system and, for the first time, a dual camera system.

These are the features of the DJI Air 3, a top drone with wide-angle shot and 3x telephoto lenspacked in a light and compact body, as is common in the home.

Dual 48 megapixel sensor

DJI Air 3 4

The DJI Air 3 comes with a dual camera system, the first drone in the Air series to include this option. We have a wide-angle main camera with a sensor 1/1.3-inch CMOS with f/1.7 aperture lens and a secondary telephoto sensor, also 1/1.3-inch CMOS, f/2.8 aperture, and 70mm equivalent with 3x optical zoom. Both cameras have the same sensor size and 48 megapixels, but the focal length changes.

On the video level, the cameras allow dual native ISO to record 4K/60 fps video in HDR without digital cropping. The maximum specification is 4K at 100 fpswith D-Log M and 10-bit HLG color modes.

Autonomy is another highlight of the new Air 3. We have up to 48% more than the previous model in total 46 minutes of flight.

DJI Mini 3, analysis: drone "pocket size" perfect for a start

Air 3 includes new omnidirectional obstacle detection system and adds the APAS 5.0 system to avoid them with smooth movements.

When it comes to video transmission, the HD O4 system is chosen, which allows sending a live signal at a speed of 1080/60fps and with a range of 20 kilometers.
